Man Chokes Ailing Dog To Death, Says He Couldn’t Afford Dog’s Medical Expenses

The Wilkes-Barre police received a complaint about a man who apparently choked his 3-year-old Husky to death. The man, 27-year-old Dennis Blanchette of Kingston, is said to have taken this step because he didn’t want to pay for the vet bills of his sick Husky. The cops quickly issued an active arrest warrant for Dennis.

Apparently, Dennis had taken his pet to the SPCA of Luzerne County for treatment. The dog had no appetite, had stopped eating and was suffering from vomiting and diarrhea. The dog needed emergency care at a hospital. But Dennis said that he did not have the money for such treatment, and took his pet away and then proceeded to kill his dog. Let’s help the cops catch him. Spread the word.

Update: Dennis was later arrested after he confessed to killing his dog by choking him out. He buried the dead dog’s corpse in the backyard of his house. The necropsy report of the dog also revealed patterns of bruising encircling the dog’s neck, which validated death by strangulation.

Dennis has now been charged with a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals and misdemeanor counts of cruelty to and neglect of animals. He was released on an unsecured bail of $5000, and now waits for the preliminary hearing to be held at a later date.
